If you read my tweets or my blog entries, you know I take a lot of pictures while I’m out walking my dog. In 2011 I was watching as autumn began to come to the foliage in Denver’s Capitol Hill neighborhood every time I went out and found myself fascinated by the earliest signs. The first fallen leaves, the first small piles of leaves in the gutters, the first sprigs of changed leaves on otherwise-green trees…
The bicycle in the first photo was there for several weeks, tempting me to take a picture (I posted a toned black and white version earlier). Sadly, it disappeared, apparently forever, the day after I took the picture. I saw what looked like the basket laying in the gutter a block away a couple days later, but it was gone within hours as well.
